The thermistor is a temperature sensing device. As the temperature increases or decreases, its resistance value will change accordingly. Different types of thermistors have different characteristics and uses.
1. Negative temperature difference (NTC) thermistor
The resistance value of NTC thermistor decreases as the temperature increases, and the resistance value at normal temperature is relatively high. It is widely used in environmental temperature detection, electronic equipment temperature control and other fields. NTC thermistors can also form RC circuits with capacitors for transient protection, filtering and interference elimination.
2. Positive temperature difference (PTC) thermistor
The resistance value of PTC thermistor increases as the temperature rises, and the resistance value at normal temperature is relatively low. It is widely used in overcurrent protection, temperature control switches and other fields in power circuits. PTC thermistor can also be used as a resettable fuse.
3. Normal temperature type (type B) thermistor
The resistance value of type B thermistor does not change much as the temperature increases or decreases, and is usually used in the temperature range of 0-50°C. Type B thermistors can be used for temperature detection and temperature control in meteorological instruments, air conditioners, home appliances and other fields.
